Day 3 - Xian

We had a later start today - a little sleep-in.   Visited the terracotta warriors factory, Much amusement taking photos of everyone with their heads and the body of a warrior. It was quite interesting seeing how painstakingly all are made by hand. Lots of shopping done here. We then went on to the terracotta warriors and horses, Visited Pit 1 first where most of the warriors are situated. Was surprisingly uncrowded (for China), then on to Pits 2 and 3. You can actually buy a beautiful book - AUD$20 - signed there and then by one of the farmers who discovered the warriors. We then had a banquet lunch at a restaurant at the museum. While I've often used chopsticks before, I haven't used them exclusively and I'm getting very proficient.  A good way to lose weight - you can't eat heaps when you use chopsticks.  After lunch went to the bronze museum which was extremely interesting - intricate hand made bronze horse harnesses and other things.  The Large Wild Goose Pagoda was next on our list. It is the symbol of the city of Xian.  To get there we walked through a park where many older Chinese men were flying colourful kites. Dinner was at our hotel which everyone appreciated after a long day.  I ordered white wine and Marsha ordered burbon and coke. They're obviously not used to serving this in the restaurant, only the bar.   We had five serving people and one other diner trying to sort out what we wanted and the correct way to serve it.
